Job Opportunity: Risk & Security Coordinator (m/f/d)
We are seeking an experienced Risk & Security Coordinator (m/f/d) to join a business-critical cloud and application environment for our client. This role is perfect for a technical specialist with a background in DevOps, Platform Engineering, IT Operations, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Engineering who is passionate about driving risk reduction and enhancing security across a large application portfolio.
You will collaborate closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Security Specialists, Architects, and Engineering Teams to identify technical risks, improve operational stability, and strengthen security practices.
Your Responsibilities
- Drive and track the application and platform risk portfolio.
- Identify, assess, and analyze technical risks within applications, platforms, and operational processes.
- Support the definition and implementation of technical risk mitigation measures.
- Track security findings and remediation activities.
- Assist Product Owners and Scrum Masters on Security, Risk, and Compliance topics.
- Coordinate technical discussions with Engineering, Architecture, Operations, and Security teams.
- Identify technical weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare technical risk reports and presentations for management and key stakeholders.
- Support security assessments and technical reviews.
- Promote Security-by-Design principles and Operational Excellence across application environments.
- Contribute to the stability, resilience, and security of business-critical systems.
Your Profile
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, System Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Several years of experience operating business-critical applications and platforms.
- Experience in DevOps, IT Operations, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Cloud Engineering environments.
- Strong understanding of modern cloud and application architectures.
- Experience with technical security topics and risk management in application or cloud environments.
- Experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating technical risks.
- Hands-on experience working with security findings, remediation plans, and technical improvement initiatives.
- Experience collaborating with Architecture, Security, Operations, and Engineering teams.
- Experience with monitoring and observability solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to explain technical risks to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficient in using Jira and Confluence.
- Fluent in German and English.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Azure, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or similar cloud platforms.
- Experience in enterprise-scale application operations.
- Experience with Vulnerability Management.
- Knowledge of IAM, Network Security, Secrets Management, or Container Security.
- Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, or comparable security standards.
- Experience implementing security and compliance requirements within product teams.
- Previous experience as a Senior Engineer, Technical Lead, Platform Engineer, or Cloud Engineer.
