Job Opportunity: Technical Product Owner / Managed Kubernetes Platform Owner

We are seeking an experienced Technical Product Owner / Managed Kubernetes Platform Owner to join a leading telecommunications company in Zurich. This is a high-impact contract opportunity with strong prospects for permanent employment.

Role Overview

In this role, you will take end-to-end ownership of our client's Managed Kubernetes Platform, driving its vision, roadmap, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement. Close collaboration with engineering teams, product management, internal stakeholders, and enterprise customers is essential to ensure a highly reliable, secure, and automated platform, while aligning business objectives with technical excellence.

Your Responsibilities

  • Own the Managed Kubernetes Platform throughout its entire lifecycle, from vision and roadmap definition to operations, optimization, and continuous improvement.
  • Define, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog in close collaboration with the DevOps and Platform Engineering teams.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, B2B customers, Product Management, and other Product Owners to align business objectives with platform capabilities.
  • Ensure high levels of service quality, reliability, security, and automation across the Kubernetes platform.
  • Drive the adoption of cloud-native and GitOps best practices to support scalable and efficient platform operations.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on architecture decisions, platform enhancements, and technical strategy.
  • Coordinate releases, change management activities, and customer communications to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Monitor platform performance, availability, and operational health, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Support and guide the implementation of CNCF ecosystem tools such as ArgoCD, Prometheus, Grafana, Cilium, Velero, and Kyverno.
  • Foster collaboration across technical and business teams to deliver valuable, scalable, and customer-focused platform services.
  • Balance strategic product ownership with hands-on technical discussions to ensure successful platform evolution.
  • Drive automation initiatives and operational excellence across the Managed Kubernetes Platform.

Your Profile

  • Degree in Computer Science or comparable further education, combined with several years of professional experience.
  • Strong professional experience in Golang development.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies such as Echo, Kubebuilder, SQLC, and Temporal.
  • Experience building modern frontend applications using React and Material UI.
  • Solid expertise in CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience working with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Kafka.
  • Good understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, and OpenID Connect (OIDC).
  • Familiarity with microservices architectures and cloud-native application design.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, collaborative mindset.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Background in service provider, telecommunications (Telco), or managed services environments is considered a strong advantage.
  • Fluent in English and German (B1 level or higher).
  • Willingness to participate in on-call duty rotations.
  • Residence in Switzerland or eligibility to work in Switzerland.

  • Contract Duration: 1 September 2026 – 31 December 2027
  • Workload: 80-100%
