Your Responsibilities
As part of the ZuReach project, your tasks will include, but are not limited to:
- Participating in the design, planning, and implementation of data collection protocols, including online and paper-based questionnaires, as well as focus group discussions.
- Developing various materials in German and English, such as flyers, data collection protocols, project descriptions, participants' consent forms, scientific reports, and meeting minutes.
- Contributing to participant recruitment and scheduling by engaging diverse groups (e.g., community members, university students) through multiple channels (social media, mailing lists, email, in-person outreach, and flyers).
- Training and instructing participants in data collection processes.
- Conducting on-site data collection in the cities of Zurich and Winterthur, if needed.
- Researching data quality assessment and assisting in the verification and analysis of collected datasets.
- If required, utilizing AI and digital methods for image processing to extract accessibility features (width, smoothness, etc.).
- Collaborating effectively with researchers, public organizations, and other institutions.
Your Profile
We are looking for a highly motivated and open-minded researcher with a passion for science, exhibiting an independent, efficient, organized, and effective work style. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A completed bachelor's degree in Geography, GIScience, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- A strong background in quantitative data analysis, statistical analysis, computational modeling, and programming (e.g., Python, SQL, R).
- Knowledge of qualitative study design and data analysis.
- Familiarity with spatial data storage and databases.
- Ideally, experience in machine learning/deep learning, image processing, and spatial data analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse groups and to be helpful, respectful, approachable, and team-oriented.
- Previous experience in interdisciplinary projects is highly valued.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both German and English are mandatory. Knowledge of other Swiss national languages (Italian and French) is a plus.
- A Swiss residency permit is required.
