Research Assistants (Law, Computer Science, or related fields)

As part of the SNSF-funded project "Responsible AI for the Swiss Judiciary," we are focused on developing real-world applications of artificial intelligence for the Swiss judiciary in close collaboration with courts and partners across Switzerland. We are in search of highly motivated Research Assistants with backgrounds in Law, Computer Science, or related fields.

Job Description

The selected candidates will support our SNSF-funded research project through versatile contributions, tailored to their backgrounds and interests. Potential tasks include:

  • Supporting stakeholder interactions, including communication and collaboration with courts and judicial actors
  • Assisting in the organization and coordination of project activities
  • Contributing to project management tasks (e.g., documentation, coordination, project website)
  • Supporting the development and refinement of AI-based research prototypes
  • Assisting in research activities

This flexibility allows candidates to engage with the project in ways that best match their skills and interests. Our offices are located in downtown Zurich, and the working languages are German and English.

Profile

We are looking for students currently enrolled at a Swiss university who are eager to contribute to an interdisciplinary research project on AI in the judiciary. We particularly welcome candidates with backgrounds in:

  • Law, especially those with an interest in AI and judicial processes
  • Computer Science or Data Science, particularly with practical programming experience

Candidates from other disciplines who demonstrate a strong motivation to contribute to our project are also encouraged to apply. Experience with project management and proficiency in the German language are seen as advantages.
