Job Description

Are you passionate about leveraging digital technologies and automation to create smarter and more efficient production environments? In this role, you will translate operational needs into scalable digital solutions that deliver measurable value.

As Project Manager – Industrial Digitalization, you will take charge of Manufacturing IT and digitalization projects from start to finish — encompassing concept and requirements definition, implementation, go-live, and user adoption. A primary focus will be on driving the digitalization and IT scope within factory investment projects related to manufacturing equipment. This includes ensuring the successful integration of automation and control systems, manufacturing applications, and enterprise IT, as well as supporting testing and commissioning activities such as Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT).

Your projects may cover areas such as Manufacturing Execution Systems, industrial data platforms, serialization, artificial intelligence, and connected-factory solutions. You will play a critical role in coordinating business stakeholders, technical experts, equipment suppliers, IT teams, and external implementation partners while managing scope, timelines, budgets, dependencies, and risks.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead industrial digitalization and Manufacturing IT projects from initial concept and business case through to go-live and adoption.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and stakeholder alignment to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Oversee IT workstreams within factory investment projects, ensuring processes, control systems, automation, and machines align with enterprise IT.
  • Support testing and commissioning activities, including Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT) from an IT perspective.
  • Translate operational needs into solution concepts and requirements, coordinating with IT, automation, and technical experts.
  • Coordinate business stakeholders, equipment suppliers, IT teams, and external implementation partners.

Your Background

  • 5+ years of experience managing IT or digitalization projects, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and interactions between shop floor systems, automation, and enterprise IT.
  • Experience in requirements engineering, process analysis, and solution design, with the ability to convert business needs into functional and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing IT systems such as MES, SAP, WMS, industrial data platforms, serialization, or machine connectivity.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation/control systems and IT/OT integration, including PLC/SPS-based equipment and industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Profinet, Ethernet/IP).
  • Experience in factory investment projects including testing, commissioning, or FAT/SAT is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders, external partners, budgets, timelines, and project risks.
  • Structured, hands-on, and solution-oriented approach, with exceptional communication skills.
  • Fluent in English and German (written and spoken).

Your Benefits

  • Attractive compensation and benefits.
  • Employee Assistance Program.
  • Global parental leave program.
  • Flexible working models.
