Lead Developer, AI-Assisted Engineering Practices

About the Role

This is a hands-on position for an individual who has successfully transformed AI-assisted development from ad hoc usage into a documented, production-grade practice. The role requires fostering the practice within a delivery team while driving its adoption across other teams through the establishment of standards, tooling, collaborative pairing, and knowledge transfer.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the delivery team to build a production-grade AI-assisted development practice, beginning with automated code review agents that assess code quality, security, and compliance with standards.
• Expand the practice to encompass automated testing, including the generation and maintenance of unit and integration test suites with real regression coverage, alongside up-to-date documentation.
• Analyze current development methodologies across teams, propose initial projects, clarify their potential impact, outline costs, and present these ideas to both engineers and management before implementation.
• Facilitate practice adoption by other teams through comprehensive written standards, tailored tooling, collaborative workshops, and training for internal engineers.
• Configure and optimize review agents to the point where teams trust them as an enhancement to traditional human review processes.
• Determine the future direction of the practice, including support for specifications, design and architecture, AI-paired coding, CI/CD, release orchestration, and feedback integration from production to development.
• Operate within established regulated enterprise constraints, adhering to approved tooling, necessary network controls, audit expectations, and governance regarding code and data management.

Experience

• A minimum of 10 years in software development, with senior or lead responsibilities.
• Extensive delivery experience within large corporate environments, understanding governance, legacy systems, shared platforms, and change management.
• Proven hands-on expertise in integrating AI-assisted development into production engineering workflows and delivering robust solutions.
• Ability to provide in-depth walkthroughs of your builds, including instruction files, prompt configurations, review rules, generated artifacts, and the impact on delivery processes.
• Demonstrated capability to enhance the quality and efficacy of a team through technical expertise, collaboration, and influence, particularly with seasoned engineers.

Technical Fluency

• Proficient in Java - the primary back-end stack (required).
• Strong knowledge of Python for tooling, automation, and managing the AI-assisted delivery chain (required).
• Solid understanding of delivery disciplines: code quality, testing strategy, CI/CD, and release governance.
• Experience with orchestrated development frameworks (e.g., GStack or equivalent) is advantageous but not essential.
• Comfortable in a regulated enterprise environment, managing approved tooling, network controls, and audit requirements.
• Familiarity with Angular and capability to review front-end implementations is a plus.

• Fluent in French and proficient in written technical English.
• Eligibility to work in Switzerland.
