Position: Junior Product Cost & Project Manager (m/f/d)

As a Junior Product Cost & Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the cost competitiveness and supply chain performance of our High-Speed turbocharger portfolio. Your responsibilities will include supporting cost transparency, driving cost-down initiatives, and contributing to our long-term value chain strategy. You will take ownership of defined cost-down projects while collaborating closely with Engineering, Procurement, Production, and Supply Chain.

Your Responsibilities

  • Product Cost
    • Perform should-cost calculations for parts and assemblies.
    • Analyze cost structures to identify and quantify savings potential.
    • Identify, assess, and prioritize cost-down opportunities.
    • Support development projects to ensure product cost targets are met.
    • Ensure Design-to-Manufacturing & Assembly principles are followed in development projects.
    • Provide cost input in early design phases and engineering changes.
    • Report on portfolio cost and profit performance.
  • Supply Chain
    • Support the definition of the division’s supply chain strategy.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of the make-or-buy strategy.
    • Track defined improvement measures and provide input for corrective actions in collaboration with Operations and Value Chain.
    • Support ramp-up and ramp-down activities for products and components.
  • Project Management
    • Lead small Engineering Change Management projects end-to-end.
    • Manage defined cost-down projects from concept to implementation.
    • Support business case calculations for change request ideas.
    • Ensure the timely execution and implementation of improvement measures.

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Engineering, or a related field.
  • First experience in cost engineering, procurement, supply chain, production, or product management.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • High motivation to learn and take on responsibility.
  • Strong analytical and data-handling skills.
  • IT proficient and experienced with AI technologies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
