Innovation & Technical Marketing Manager - Polymers
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Innovation & Technical Marketing Manager to join our team and drive innovation in the polymers sector. This role will focus on agile management of the front-end innovation process, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and engaging stakeholders to meet our innovation goals.
Responsibilities
Innovation & Technical Marketing (ITM)
- Effectively manage the front-end innovation process, including idea generation, screening, and portfolio management to achieve proof-of-concept.
- Lead initiatives such as the Basket of Ideas (BoI) and Voice of Customers (VoC) in collaboration with the Innovation Management & Partnership team, ensuring a steady flow of strong, market-worthy ideas.
- Conduct thorough technical and market analysis to evaluate ideas, including competitive benchmarking and assessment of potential benefits for Omya.
- Define technical value propositions and craft compelling marketing content, including presentations, white papers, and case studies.
- Develop effective value propositions and marketing strategies to support product launches.
- Facilitate training programs for Sales and Marketing teams, focusing on well-established product technical features, advantages, and benefits.
- Identify gaps in technical, commercial, and business models within the portfolio and propose innovative initiatives.
- Accountable for optimizing idea conversion and pipeline management.
Leading without Authority
- Lead large cross-functional project teams and engage stakeholders to achieve established innovation goals.
- Foster transparency among project team members to enhance engagement and collaboration.
- Encourage knowledge sharing across functions, enabling team members to learn from one another.
- Establish a performance-driven mindset and cultivate a culture of growth across the organization.
Requirements
- University Degree in engineering, chemistry, or a relevant subject area. A Master’s degree in economics, business, or finance is advantageous.
- 5-10 years of relevant industry experience, with international work experience considered a plus.
- Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of the global polymer market.
- Strong innovation mindset, with a keen sense for unmet market needs and the market value of developed solutions.
- Proven project management skills with a track record of successfully executing complex projects.
- Effective leadership and communication skills to interact with diverse project team members at all levels.
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills to achieve desired results.
- Ability to take measured risks and aggressively develop new ideas.
- Strong command of both oral and written English is essential; additional language skills are a plus.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 40% of the time.
