Mission
We are currently seeking a qualified professional in the field of financial accounting and controlling to support the regional sales organization of an international industrial company in Switzerland. This role will oversee all financial processes in the region, coordinate accounting activities, and provide strategic support to local management for financial decision-making and international reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Management & Reporting
- Manage, control, and analyze the company’s financial information (P&L and Balance Sheet) in all aspects, including Annual Statutory Accounts, Reporting, Budget, and Forecast, with the support of the local team, external advisors, and the Regional Controller.
- Ensure compliance with Tax and Legal mandates from local institutions, in cooperation with External Accounting, Tax, Legal, and HR advisors. This includes full responsibility for Swiss VAT (MWST) returns, social security declarations, corporate income tax filings, and provisional tax calculations.
- Provide management support for local business needs, assisting the General Manager and other company managers as well as HQ.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports to define and execute necessary reports for optimal business management, establishing methods and order for these processes.
- Present monthly financial key metrics to the General Manager and Area Controller, ensuring alignment and providing periodic updates to the management team.
- Monitor the company’s budget to identify deviations and propose action plans as needed.
- Guide management in meeting company targets and react appropriately to changes in key figures (EBITDA, Stock, NWC, FCF).
Operations, Accounting, and Control
- Oversee and understand operational processes (sales, warehouse/logistic operations) and their financial impacts.
- Validate internal controls as necessary and ensure consistency in the information.
- Collaborate with local management on critical financial topics such as rebates, payment terms, collections, ageing follow-up, and margins.
- Perform monthly closing activities (P&L and Balance Sheet), including accruals, provisions, reconciliations, and intercompany processes.
Liabilities Control – Payroll and Taxes
- Work closely with HR to report closing figures concerning personnel expenses and cooperate on Budget and Forecast workflows, conducting monthly reviews versus actual figures.
- Manage monthly payroll processes with HR/Payroll providers and oversee personnel-related provisions.
- Conduct monthly follow-ups on Capex versus budget and assess fixed assets valuation.
- Develop cash forecasts in accordance with Treasury Department HQ requirements; control cash and bank balances.
- Conduct statistical analyses of sales and margins based on business requirements by customer, family, SKU, or specific operations.
Coordination in Internal/External Statistical Requirements
- Implement timely measures for any deviations detected by the internal audit department, supporting process improvements.
- Conduct monthly reviews with the General Manager and Area Controller.
- Adopt a proactive stance focused on adding value to the financials and the overall business, acting as a pivot between the company and HQ.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications Requirements:
- At least 3 years of professional finance experience with a solid background in financial accounting and controlling tasks.
- Deep understanding of Swiss accounting standards, IFRS, and the local tax and regulatory framework.
- Proven experience in preparing Swiss VAT returns, Swiss social security declarations, and Swiss corporate income tax returns.
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong experience in intercompany reconciliation (P&L and Balance Sheet), monthly closings, and international group reporting to HQ is preferred.
- A reliable, proactive, and collaborative approach, focused on supporting business decisions and continuous improvement.
- Fluency in German and English is required; proficiency in French is a plus.
