Innovation & Technical Marketing Manager - Polymers
We are seeking a dynamic Innovation & Technical Marketing Manager to join our team and lead the way in driving innovation and market growth within the polymers sector.
Responsibilities
Innovation & Technical Marketing (ITM)
- Agile management of the front-end innovation process including idea generation, screening, and portfolio management to achieve proof-of-concept.
- Lead initiatives such as the Basket of Ideas (BoI) and Voice of Customers (VoC) alongside the Innovation Management & Partnership team, ensuring a rich development funnel filled with strong, market-worthy ideas.
- Thoroughly evaluate ideas concerning technical/market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and potential benefits for Omya.
- Define technical value propositions and create engaging technical marketing content, including presentations, white papers, and case studies.
- Develop compelling value propositions and marketing strategies to support product launches.
- Facilitate training programs for Sales/Marketing teams to effectively convey product technical features, advantages, and benefits.
- Identify technical, commercial, and business model gaps in the portfolio and propose innovation initiatives to address them.
- Accountable for ensuring optimal conversion of ideas through the innovation pipeline.
Leading Without Authority
- Lead large, cross-functional project teams and engage stakeholders to meet established innovation goals.
- Foster transparency among project team members to encourage engagement.
- Promote knowledge sharing across functions, enhancing team collaboration and learning.
- Establish a performance mindset and cultivate a culture of growth within the team.
Requirements
- University Degree in engineering, chemistry, or a related field. A Master’s degree in economics, business, or finance is advantageous.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant industry experience, with international exposure considered a plus.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of the global polymer market.
- Innovation-oriented personality with a keen sense of unmet market needs and the market value of developed solutions.
- Proficient project management skills with a proven record of successful execution of complex projects.
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills to effectively engage with project team members from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong influencing and negotiation abilities to drive results.
- Ability to take calculated risks and aggressively develop new ideas.
- Excellent command of both oral and written English; additional language skills are a bonus.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 40% of the time.
