Innovation & Technical Marketing Manager - Polymers
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Innovation & Technical Marketing Manager with expertise in polymers to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in driving innovative solutions and enhancing our product offerings in the market.
Responsibilities
Innovation & Technical Marketing (ITM)
- Agile management of the front-end innovation process, encompassing idea generation, screening, and portfolio management, to achieve proof-of-concept.
- Lead programs such as the Basket of Ideas (BoI) and Voice of Customers (VoC) in collaboration with the Innovation Management & Partnership team, ensuring a robust development funnel filled with viable ideas.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of ideas with respect to technical and market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and the identification of potential benefits for Omya.
- Define compelling technical value propositions and generate engaging technical marketing content, including presentations, white papers, and case studies.
- Devise marketing strategies and value propositions that support successful product launches.
- Facilitate training programs for Sales and Marketing teams, focusing on articulating product technical features, advantages, and benefits.
- Assist in identifying gaps in technical, commercial, and business models within the portfolio and propose innovative initiatives.
- Ensure the optimal conversion of ideas and the pipeline.
Leading Without Authority
- Guide large cross-functional project teams and engage with stakeholders to meet established innovation goals.
- Foster transparency among project team members to enhance engagement.
- Promote open knowledge sharing across functions, enabling team members to learn collaboratively.
- Establish a performance-oriented mindset and cultivate a culture of growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, or a related field; a master’s degree in economics, business, or finance is advantageous.
- 5-10 years of relevant industry experience; international work experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of the global polymer market.
- Innovative mindset with the ability to identify unmet market needs and assess the market value of developed solutions.
- Proficient project management skills, demonstrated through a successful track record of executing complex projects.
- Effective leadership and communication abilities to interact collaboratively with diverse project team members at all levels.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills to drive results.
- Capability to take calculated risks and aggressively develop new ideas.
- Excellent command of both oral and written English; proficiency in additional languages is beneficial.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 40% of the time.
