Job Opportunity: Chef de Cuisine Indian
Join our esteemed team at a privately owned Indian casual-dining restaurant chain with over 50 years of experience and 85 locations worldwide. We are recognized for our authentic South Indian cuisine, particularly traditional Chettinad-style preparations, and are expanding our international outreach, which includes locations in Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia, the Middle East, Australia, and North America. With an annual footfall of 10-12 million customers, we are currently seeking a talented Chef de Cuisine Indian to enhance our offerings and maintain our high culinary standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Craft authentic Chettinad cuisines and deliver the finest butter chicken.
- Develop new menu options based on seasonal changes and customer preferences.
- Assist with meal design preparation and planning.
- Ensure timely kitchen operations and maintain efficiency.
- Provide guidance and support to junior kitchen staff with cooking, food preparation, and dish plating.
- Recruit and train new kitchen employees to uphold restaurant standards.
- Create employee schedules and assess their performance.
- Implement and adhere to sanitation and safety regulations.
- Manage the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef.
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a reputable restaurant or hotel.
- Preferred qualifications include a diploma or degree in Hospitality.
- A commitment to work for a minimum of two years at our restaurants in Switzerland is expected.
- Strong knowledge of South Indian specialty cuisine, particularly Chettinad, and Indian cooking techniques.
- Proficiency in German is preferred.
