Job Opportunity: Finance Business Partner - Sustainability
On behalf of our client, a renowned global FMCG company, we are seeking an experienced, motivated, and dynamic professional for the role of Finance Business Partner Sustainability. This position is based in the Canton of Zurich, Switzerland.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a key finance partner for sustainability activities in African countries, ensuring financial strategies are adapted to local realities and supporting the successful execution of customer programs and traceability efforts.
- Serve as the finance lead for all Sustainability P&L and Balance Sheet topics, driving automation and efficiency in sustainability finance.
- Proactively identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies in the region to ensure traceability systems meet regulatory standards.
- Oversee finance-related activities for the company’s foundation, including actuals, budgeting, forecasting, and customer project reporting, ensuring pricing and ratios reflect local market dynamics and sustainability goals.
- Collaborate with local finance and operations teams in Africa to ensure accurate costing and reporting of sustainability activities.
- Utilize insights from the region to identify and mitigate risks related to customer claims and program delivery.
- Lead the transformation of accounting and reporting systems by leveraging SAP EDP knowledge in the countries, ensuring compatibility with existing setups and precise capture of specific activities.
- Act as the main point of contact for the Center of Excellence (COE) at headquarters on sustainability accounting topics, ensuring that region-specific accounting practices are aligned with global standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in finance with a strong emphasis on business partnering and Financial Planning & Analysis.
- At least 8 years of experience working with branches in Africa on sustainability accounting topics.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing local financial processes in a branch, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Strong cross-cultural competence and effective communication skills with international stakeholders across the Southern Hemisphere, global partners, and local teams.
- Proven track record in working with regulatory frameworks such as EUDR, with a strong understanding of their implications for traceability and compliance.
- Extensive experience and deep knowledge of SAP EDP systems.
- Thorough understanding of sustainability practices and product dynamics.
- Proficiency in English is required.
- Business fluency in French is essential.
- Strong strategic thinking skills and the ability to influence decision-making across both global and local teams.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
