Job Opportunity: EI&C Maintenance Engineer

Join Proclinical in supporting the seamless operation of critical manufacturing systems by driving reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement. We are seeking an EI&C Maintenance Engineer for a contract role based in Switzerland. In this position, you will be essential in ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain equipment availability, ensure compliance, and drive operational excellence. Responsibilities

• Maintain and support electrical, instrumentation, automation, and process control systems across manufacturing and utility facilities.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to electrical instrumentation and automation to minimize downtime.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Support root cause investigations and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with GMP, safety, and quality requirements.
• Support and maintain DeltaV Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and related automation infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Automation and Process Engineers to optimize control strategies and plant performance.
• Assist in system upgrades, lifecycle management, and validation activities.
• Provide support for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), preferably Syncade.
• Troubleshoot production execution and batch record issues.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules to minimize disruptions.
• Document maintenance activities accurately in SAP.
• Operate in compliance with GMP regulations and internal quality standards.
• Identify opportunities for improving equipment reliability, maintenance processes, and operational efficiency.
• Participate in cross-functional improvement projects and commissioning activities.

Key Skills and Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Process Control Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.
• Experience in industrial maintenance, automation, or process manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency in German; English skills are advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering and industrial instrumentation.
• Practical experience with DeltaV Process Control Systems (PLS-DCS).
• Basic knowledge of instrumentation and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with SAP maintenance modules and MES systems (preferably Syncade) is advantageous.
• Understanding of GMP-regulated operations.
• Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and workload management skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Team-oriented mindset with a proactive and quality-focused approach.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, or other highly regulated industries is preferred.
• Exposure to commissioning, qualification, and operational readiness activities is beneficial.
