Are you passionate about transforming industrial data into actionable insights and ensuring the seamless performance of critical manufacturing systems? Proclinical is seeking an EI&C PI Engineer for a contract role based in Switzerland. This position focuses on managing and optimizing PI systems and related infrastructure to support manufacturing and engineering operations.

The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and a strong understanding of data integration, analytics, and compliance within a regulated environment. Please note that to be considered for this role, you must have the right to work in this location or hold an EU passport.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain PI Data Archive interfaces, connectors, and supporting infrastructure.
• Configure and support PI Asset Framework (AF) templates, hierarchies, attributes, and Event Frames (EF).
• Develop and maintain PI Analytics, KPIs, calculations, and data evaluation solutions.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot interfaces between PI and systems such as DeltaV, PLCs, MES, LIMS, and enterprise applications.
• Develop integrations and applications using PI SDK, AF SDK, PI Web API, REST APIs, and SQL-based solutions.
• Support data sharing and reporting platforms, including Power BI and other analytics tools.
• Ensure system reliability through monitoring, troubleshooting, lifecycle management, upgrades, and patching.
• Create and maintain GxP-compliant documentation, support validation activities, and ensure data integrity compliance.
• Collaborate with Automation, Manufacturing, Engineering, Data Analytics, and IT teams on various initiatives.

Key Skills and Requirements

• Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong IT background, including experience with servers, databases, networking, virtualization, and system integrations.
• Hands-on experience with:
  • PI Data Archive
  • PI Asset Framework (AF)
  • Event Frames (EF)
  • PI Interfaces and Connectors
  • PI Analytics
  • PI SDK, AF SDK, and PI Web API
• Experience in GMP-regulated environments and GxP documentation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in English and/or German.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing.
• Knowledge of DeltaV, MES, SCADA, and industrial automation systems.
• Familiarity with Power BI, SQL databases, and data analytics platforms.
• Understanding of OT cybersecurity and data governance principles.
