We invite you to enhance our team in Baden, Switzerland with your expertise and experience as our Development Engineer Mechanical Integrity (m/f) within the Turbine Development department of our gas turbine business. Your Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical integrity solutions and lifetime predictions for gas turbine blades and vanes.
- Collaborate closely with other functional turbine teams, such as Aerodynamics, Cooling, Design, Manufacturing, and Reconditioning, to ensure compliance with static and dynamic criteria.
- Issue and review technical reports; prepare design review materials.
- Integrate lessons learned by incorporating field feedback into design processes.
- Support manufacturing process development by offering technical expertise.
- Address nonconformities in collaboration with Quality and design teams.
- Conduct failure analyses and provide technical insights from field operation findings.
- Issue reconditioning specifications.
- Prepare and support material, part, spin pit, and engine tests and validation efforts.
Your Profile
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in high-temperature component design.
- Experience with state-of-the-art 3D finite element modeling, ideally using ANSYS.
- Solid knowledge of thermal/structural mechanics, blade dynamics, and the physics of materials.
- Understanding of gas and steam turbine fundamentals.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Italian or German is a plus.
- Open-minded, analytical, and target-oriented team player capable of thriving in a multicultural environment.
- Creative, thorough, and independent with strong communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time, worldwide.
