We invite you to strengthen our team in Baden, Switzerland, by bringing your expertise and experience to our Turbine Development department within the gas turbine business. Contribute to the continuous improvement of Ansaldo Energia products and help us shape the future of energy.

Your Tasks

  • Provide mechanical integrity solutions and lifetime predictions for gas turbine blades and vanes.
  • Collaborate closely with other turbine functional teams, including Aerodynamics, Cooling, Design, Manufacturing, and Reconditioning, to ensure components meet static and dynamic criteria.
  • Issue and review technical reports while preparing design review material.
  • Capture lessons learned and integrate field feedback into the design process.
  • Support manufacturing process development by offering technical expertise.
  • Issue nonconformity resolutions in coordination with Quality and design teams.
  • Conduct failure analysis and deliver technical feedback based on field operation findings.
  • Create reconditioning specifications.
  • Prepare and support material, part, spin pit, and engine tests and validation activities.

Your Profile

  • Degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • At least 5 years of experience, preferably in the design of high-temperature components.
  • Experience with state-of-the-art 3D finite element modeling, ideally with ANSYS.
  • Solid knowledge of thermal/structural mechanics, blade dynamics, and material physics.
  • Understanding of gas and steam turbine fundamentals.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Italian and/or German is a plus.
  • Open-minded, analytical, and target-oriented team player capable of thriving in a multicultural environment.
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and independent, with excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time, worldwide.
