Data Center Security Manager / Data Center Security Manageress

Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Security Manager (DSM) for our data centers in the Zurich area. This role will lead physical security operations across multiple sites and report directly to the Cluster Security Manager. The ideal candidate will combine security operations expertise with strong leadership abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day physical security operations
  • Maintain site security posture
  • Oversee security guard force vendors
  • Ensure compliance with AWS security standards
  • Respond to security situations as directed by the Cluster or Regional Security Manager
  • Support the on-site contractor security team as the primary security contact during shifts
  • Report all unusual events to the Cluster Manager in a timely manner
  • Provide guidance to contract security officers to maximize departmental effectiveness
  • Oversee access control systems and badge deliveries
  • Investigate security events via alarm and CCTV monitoring systems
  • Cooperate with the Security Operation Center during incidents
  • Create and improve procedures, processes, and workflows using data and metrics
  • Develop knowledge of operational processes within the Data Center to identify vulnerabilities
  • Conduct various security inspections, audits, and investigations
  • Travel to other geographic regions as required

Basic Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in a similar role within the public or private security industry
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail
  • Flexibility and availability to be on-call for out-of-business-hours emergencies
  • Willingness to travel for business to Data Centers within the Cluster and abroad
  • Valid driving license with eligibility to drive in Switzerland
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Proficiency in using data and metrics to improve processes and customer satisfaction

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems
  • Management experience with vendors
  • Familiarity with investigative techniques for event analysis
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to company tools for data gathering and analysis
  • Metrics-oriented with the ability to handle pressure and act swiftly in crises
  • Ability to handle confidential information with care
