Job Description
Behind every innovative system are the right electrical components. Do you want to help shape that foundation? As a Category Manager for Electrical Components, you will be responsible for a key category and ensure that our technologies can be successfully developed through strategic sourcing, strong supplier partnerships, and in-depth market expertise.
What You Will Be Doing
- Negotiate with foresight: Lead price and contract negotiations for electrical components, motors, control cabinets, and electrical assemblies while securing the best possible commercial terms.
- Drive category strategy: Develop and implement sourcing strategies for your category, aligned with our business objectives.
- Optimize costs and processes: Identify cost-saving opportunities, evaluate supplier quotations, and continuously improve procurement and inventory costs.
- Build strong supplier partnerships: Establish and develop a strategic supplier network, conduct regular business reviews, and ensure long-term supply security.
- Leverage market intelligence: Monitor market developments within your category and support internal stakeholders with your expertise in strategic and technical decision-making.
What You Should Bring
- Strong educational background: A technical or commercial qualification, ideally complemented by a background in electrical engineering.
- Technical sourcing expertise: 5-8 years of international procurement experience, ideally within plant engineering, capital equipment, or industrial manufacturing.
- Electrical know-how: A solid understanding of electrical components, motors, control cabinets, and electromechanical systems.
- Digital proficiency: Confident in working with MS Office and ERP systems; SAP experience is an advantage.
- Communication and flexibility: Fluent in German and English, with a willingness to travel occasionally (approx. 15%).
