Job Description
Are you curious to understand how complex technologies interact and eager to shape products beyond individual components? As a System Engineer in Product Development, you will take technical ownership of a product throughout its entire lifecycle. You will connect requirements, mechanics, electronics, and software into a coherent system and drive its evolution together with Product Management. This is where systems thinking, technical leadership, and product ownership come together.
What You Will Be Doing
- Own and evolve products: You will take technical ownership of a product portfolio, drive its development throughout the entire lifecycle, and coordinate the implementation of new features, technologies, and improvements together with the engineering disciplines.
- Translate requirements into solutions: You will analyze customer, market, and business requirements, derive system specifications, and ensure consistent implementation across mechanics, electronics, and software.
- Solve problems sustainably: You will investigate technical issues at the system level, coordinate root cause analyses, and develop sustainable solutions together with subject matter experts.
- Provide technical leadership: You will coordinate the disciplines of mechanics, electronics, and software, facilitate technical decisions, and ensure the overall system remains aligned with product objectives.
- Shape product strategy: You will work closely with Product Management, assess technical opportunities and risks, prepare decision-making foundations, and support the strategic development of the product portfolio.
What You Should Bring
- Technical education: You hold a degree or advanced qualification (HF, FH, ETH, University) in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Systems mindset: You have 3 to 8 years of experience in plant engineering, product development, or a technically demanding industrial environment.
- Analytical approach: You enjoy diving into complex technical challenges, identifying root causes, and maintaining a clear view of the overall system.
- Strong communication skills: You work confidently across different disciplines, drive topics forward, and proactively engage with relevant stakeholders.
- Language proficiency: You communicate fluently in both German and English and feel comfortable working in an international environment.
