Your Role

In this position, you will be responsible for purchasing materials that meet required technical specifications, pricing, delivery schedules, and terms within our Medium- / Low-Speed Division located in Baden, Switzerland. You will report to the Team Leader of Logistics & Operational Purchasing and play a key role in our regional success.

Your Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Ownership: Manage the full purchasing cycle, from validating PO MRP proposals to order creation, follow-up, and delivery.
  • Issue Resolution: Resolve daily purchasing issues, including invoice queries, while working collaboratively with suppliers to prevent future problems.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track supplier performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure material availability and optimal inventory levels in line with demand, implementing initiatives for inventory reduction.
  • Master Data Maintenance: Monitor and resolve any gaps with Category Management.
  • MRP Process Optimization: Enhance and monitor the MRP process, addressing and resolving gaps with Power users.
  • Accounting: Process invoices and create credit/debit notes as required.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure service quality, reliability, and performance.
  • Contract Compliance: Ensure adherence to supply agreements, framework contracts, and preferred vendor lists.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for enhancing the procurement process.
  • Stakeholder Support: Provide operational support to internal clients, collaborating to make informed purchasing decisions.

Your Background

  • At least two years of professional experience in operational purchasing, ideally as a Buyer.
  • Solid knowledge of SAP ERP systems; experience with S/4HANA is an advantage.
  • Proficient in SAP and commonly used MS Office tools.
  • Strong communication skills in both German and English, written and spoken.
  • A collaborative mindset complemented by a proactive, solution-oriented working style.
  • Relevant further education aligned with your area of expertise is desirable.
