Job Description

Meet the team! Rohan Büchner, our Engineering Manager, is excited to welcome a new Backend Engineer with Go skills to join our two online marketplaces, tutti.ch and anibis.ch.

How do we work in the Backend Team?

We operate within stream-aligned product teams using the SCRUM methodology. Each team comprises 2–3 Backend Engineers, a Product Owner, an Engineering Manager, Designers, and Mobile and Web Engineers. Our teams closely collaborate with the Platform (infrastructure) and Data (BI) teams, with each product team owning a specific domain. Engineers are responsible for design, implementation, deployment, and monitoring.

We run Go-based backend services on AWS with Kubernetes, deploying daily to over 300k users. Code is reviewed and deployed directly from GitHub. Our tech stack includes:

• PostgreSQL
• Elasticsearch
• Redis
• SendGrid (for emails)
• Auth0 (for authentication)

We maintain high test coverage using tools like Testify, with integration tests for databases, Redis, and Kafka.

Qualifications

What will you bring to the ride?

• Strong Go programming skills with about 3 years of experience in Go.
• Proven experience with strongly typed languages in complex settings, including building and delivering web services.
• A track record of at least 3+ years making high-impact technical decisions and driving project outcomes.
• A positive attitude and passion for your craft are valued more than simply meeting every requirement.
• We appreciate pragmatic, empathetic team members who prioritize understanding others before seeking to be understood.
