API Integration Expert

Duration: 2+ months - Location: Remote - Start: ASAP

We are currently seeking an experienced API Integration Expert to support our international client in establishing effective policies and governance layers for API deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the API Integration Expert.
• Define and support integration governance, review, and compliance processes, including the automation of those processes.
• Create policies, governance, and safeguard layers for the deployment of all APIs.
• Enhance existing API and integration lifecycle processes.
• Develop API-first design guidelines, standards, and best practices.
• Improve the quality of the API catalogue, documentation, metadata, and encourage reuse.
• Create and deliver training sessions and workshops.
• Promote reusable, secure, and scalable APIs alongside the Community of Practice.
• Collaborate closely with the Enterprise Architecture team.

Requirements:

• Significant project experience with API integration and API management.
• A prior background as an API/Integration Architect.
• Project experience in enterprise integration and integration architecture.
• Strong knowledge of API-first design, REST/OpenAPI, OData, and modern integration patterns.
• Experience with various integration tools or management platforms (e.g., Azure API Management, MuleSoft, SAP Integration Suite).
• Previous experience in setting up API policies and governance.
• Keen understanding of SAP integration, SaaS integration patterns, and integration governance.
• Experience in developing and delivering API-first training.
• Proficient stakeholder management skills.
• Project experience in international projects for European businesses.
• Fluency in English.

Project Details:

Start: ASAP (October)

Duration: Until the end of December (+ option to extend)

Workload: 5 days per week

Languages: Fluency in English
