Join Our Nautical Team as a 1st Captain

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises proudly operates a fleet of eleven intimate, boutique river cruise ships on the beautiful European waterways, catering exclusively to English-speaking clients.

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to fill the role of 1st Captain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Navigating the ship in accordance with company guidelines and safety regulations.
  • Ensuring the safety of all passengers and crew on board.
  • Overseeing ship maintenance during the cruise season and winter months.
  • Professionally managing the Nautical Team.
  • Facilitating communication on board with the Hotel Manager and Cruise Manager.

Your Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role on the Rhine-Main-Danube waterways.
  • Experience with Z-Drive systems is a plus, but not required.
  • A valid license for navigating the Rhine until Mainz and/or the Danube.
  • An innovative, flexible, and proactive leadership style as well as being a team player.
  • The ability to communicate and conduct business fluently in German and/or English.
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • A willingness to learn and grow in your role.
