In Vivo Laboratory Technician
Roche Switzerland seamlessly connects the realms of pharmaceuticals and diagnostics, hosting vital research and development functions. For our esteemed client, F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG in Basel, we are currently seeking a passionate and skilled In Vivo Laboratory Technician.
Background
This position is situated within In Vivo Sciences, a chapter of Pharmaceutical Sciences (PS). Here, we focus on the housing and care of laboratory animals, alongside the state-of-the-art execution of animal experiments in pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and toxicology. In Vivo Sciences manages the Animal Facility in pRED, serving as a crucial business enabler for all in vivo studies.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Conduct in vivo studies involving rodents and rabbits in the areas of toxicology and pharmacokinetics. Tasks include:
- Clinical scoring
- Blood collection
- Dosing via various routes (IP, IV, PO, Subcutaneous)
- Basic necropsy skills
- Collect, document, review, and verify data in electronic data capture systems.
- Participate as a team member in study activities on weekends on a rotational basis.
- Optional: Conduct or assist with surgical procedures, including anesthesia, while providing pre- and postoperative care according to best veterinary and animal welfare standards.
Must Haves
- Training as an in vivo associate, biology laboratory assistant, or relevant experience in laboratory work with laboratory animals.
- At least 2 years of work experience in animal laboratory settings (working with rats and mice).
- An accredited animal course (LTK or FELASA) is mandatory.
- Fluency in English is required.
