Chef de Partie - River - Europe

Role Overview

Join our Galley team aboard Viking River Cruises, where as a Chef de Partie, you will prepare exquisite meals that ensure the utmost satisfaction of our guests while adhering to Viking River Cruises standards and HACCP regulations. You will report directly to the Executive Chef and the Sous-Chef.

What You Will Do On Board

  • Prepare and serve daily meals (breakfast, lunch, teatime, dinner) for both crew and guests in accordance with the menu cycle and Executive Chef's manual.
  • Order and manage stock in collaboration with the Executive Chef, ensuring proper handling of all products and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working area, adhering to HACCP rules and company standards.
  • Conduct stock takes and inventory as per company procedures, establish par levels, and assist in loading processes.
  • Help in opening and closing ships at the start and end of the season, and participate in onboard training programs.
  • Assist with luggage handling on embarkation and disembarkation days, and provide support in other departments as required by supervisors.

About You

  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the hotel, catering industry, or restaurants.
  • International experience or ship experience is an asset.
  • Good command of English; fluency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with a strong focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Flexibility, resilience to stress, teamwork, commitment, and a positive attitude along with a neat appearance are essential attributes.
