Celonic is a "Pure Play" Biologics Contract Development Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) dedicated to helping customers, primarily small to large biotech companies, bring life-improving and life-saving drugs to market efficiently and effectively. Using innovative, next-generation bioprocessing technologies, we operate a state-of-the-art Development and Innovation Center in Basel, Switzerland (our headquarters), as well as clinical and commercial GMP manufacturing facilities in Heidelberg, Germany.
Celonic offers comprehensive services ranging from cell line development, through the optimization of production processes, to clinical and commercial GMP manufacturing of biopharmaceutical active ingredients such as antibodies, bispecifics, and other complex proteins. THE POSITION
As the Team Lead Accounting (m/f/d), you will oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements while ensuring compliance with all applicable accounting regulations. You will also provide both professional and disciplinary leadership to a two-person accounts payable team.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure adherence to proper accounting practices in full compliance with legal requirements (e.g., VAT regulations).
- Manage liquidity planning and monitor company cash flows and accounts.
- Critically evaluate existing processes and develop new solutions for optimization.
- Serve as the main point of contact for auditors and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee monthly reconciliation between Celonic entities and the parent company.
- Provide professional and disciplinary leadership to the accounts payable department (currently two members).
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong hands-on operational experience.
- 8+ years of experience in preparing financial statements in accordance with the Swiss Code of Obligations (knowledge of IFRS is advantageous but not mandatory).
- Excellent proficiency in working with ERP systems.
- Previous leadership experience managing small teams is desirable.
- A completed advanced education focused on accounting/finance or a comparable qualification.
- Experience with accounting requirements in project-based business, particularly in the CDMO sector, is an advantage.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, along with high problem-solving competence.
- Excellent written and spoken skills in German and English.
