About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patent and scientific literature searches to support critical intellectual property and business decisions.
  • Develop innovative search strategies using advanced research methodologies and specialized patent databases.
  • Deliver actionable patent analytics supporting due diligence, litigation, and freedom-to-operate assessments.
  • Partner with patent attorneys, scientists, and business teams to define objectives and deliver insights.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear recommendations for diverse stakeholders.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation, search records, and confidentiality standards across all projects.
  • Strengthen organizational expertise by sharing best practices and monitoring industry developments.

Essential Requirements

  • (Prof.) Master's degree (or PhD) in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Experience in patent searching, intellectual property research, technical research, or patent analytics.
  • Proficiency in using patent and scientific literature databases and advanced search platforms.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively within a global environment.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or related life sciences industries is a plus.

Expected Annual Base Salary Range for this role: 93,800 - 174,200 CHF

The base salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies, and experience in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and will be reviewed periodically.
