We are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of MYP Science & Mathematics to join our vibrant community at our beautiful all-through 4-18 international boarding school nestled in the Swiss Alps. Main Duties

  • Teach across a diverse age and ability range, tailoring lessons to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Contribute to the wider school life through participation in sporting events, extracurricular activities, and other enrichment opportunities.
  • Engage collaboratively with the Science & Mathematics Departments.
  • Participate actively in boarding life.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and seek opportunities to enhance your teaching practice.
  • Mentor a small group of learners, monitoring their achievements and well-being.
  • Manage departmental resources, ensuring a safe, clean, and organized working environment.
  • Demonstrate a clear commitment to the safeguarding of all young people.
  • Participate in subject-related administration and attend departmental meetings as necessary.
  • Adhere to the school’s assessment and reporting processes and participate in parents’ meetings when required.

Person Specification

  • A good honours degree and/or a further degree in a directly related subject.
  • A commitment to the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • A passion for your subject, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • A willingness to embrace innovative teaching methods and experiment with new practices.
  • Readiness to supervise learners completing the MYP Personal Project or the DP Extended Essay.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (native level).
  • An alignment with the educational vision of La Garenne International School, including our holistic approach to education, and enthusiasm for contributing to co-curricular and pastoral life.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and collaborating with colleagues and school leadership.
  • Proficient in ICT and open to adopting new technologies.
