Position Overview
As a Strategic Procurement Manager, you will actively contribute to the formulation, execution, and evolution of procurement strategies related to locating, evaluating, contracting, and maintaining the best sources of supply for the materials and services required by Operations. You will consider all aspects such as quality, value, performance, cost, and the ability to respond quickly to changing supply requirements including licensing and logistics services. You will take ownership and accountability for supplier and vendor selection and development, delivering ongoing and sustainable improvements in procurement costs in support of SR Technics' growth objectives.
Your Tasks
- Develop and execute procurement and strategic sourcing strategies to continuously reduce total cost of ownership and improve quality, standards, and delivery performance of services and products purchased, while staying aware of changing business trends in the marketplace and their impact on SR Technics Switzerland.
- Analyze spend data and trends to identify, develop, recommend, and justify strategic sourcing initiatives that meet the needs of SR Technics Switzerland, utilizing data mining tools, marketplace analysis, end-user feedback, and preparing supporting reports and comparisons.
- Recommend the most appropriate and efficient methods for the formation of strategic sourcing initiatives and agreements, determining suitability based on spend analysis, end-user activity, and marketplace conditions.
- Negotiate strategic sourcing agreements and manage changes to supplier and vendor contracts in accordance with compliance requirements, ensuring that contract changes are reasonable, compliant, and in the best interest of SR Technics Switzerland.
- Apply negotiation and mediation skills to resolve contractual disputes and determine appropriate outcomes during the strategic sourcing contracting processes.
- Analyze bid responses to determine the most responsive and responsible bidders to optimize total costs, defending and justifying awards in case of any formal vendor or contractor protests.
- Collaborate with operational and other Procurement teams in developing strategic sourcing agreements, assisting in the formulation of internal policies and tools to prioritize initiatives, and monitoring supplier and vendor performance through financial reviews and customer outreach.
Your Profile
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, business administration, or economics, with a preference for Supply Chain or Purchasing education.
- Professional experience in a technical environment, preferably within the aviation sector, coupled with expertise in Purchasing and Supply Chain management.
- Proven sourcing and contracting experience, supported by excellent project management skills with a results-oriented approach.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective relationship management and teamwork, complemented by excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient knowledge of databases and data handling tools.
- Language proficiency: German level B2 and English level C1.
