About Gramazio Kohler Research
Gramazio Kohler Research, part of the Chair of Architecture and Digital Fabrication at the Institute of Technology in Architecture, operates at the forefront of architectural design and production through innovative digital manufacturing techniques. Our infrastructure includes the Robotic Fabrication Laboratory (RFL), a unique digital construction environment that facilitates world-class research in robotic fabrication within architecture and construction.
Job Description
- We are seeking a highly skilled software engineer to contribute to the development of Python libraries for research in architecture and timber construction, based on the open-source COMPAS framework created by ETH Zurich.
- Your focus will be on software development and integration across various CAD packages including Autodesk Revit, Archicad, and cadwork3d, collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team of software engineers, architects, and computer scientists.
- Your projects will involve multi-disciplinary collaborations with timber construction companies, encompassing a broad spectrum of exciting tasks.
Profile
We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Several years of experience as a software engineer
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages, particularly Python (C++ skills are a plus)
- Experience in AEC software development, specifically with Archicad and Revit
- Familiarity with plugin systems (a significant advantage)
- Understanding of continuous integration pipelines (an asset)
- Fluency in English
- Genuine interest in open-source projects
- Enjoyment of working in an international, diverse, and interdisciplinary team
