Main Objectives
Anticipate market trends in vision science and translate them into core technologies and platform solutions to further secure Cohu's leadership in the inspection business.
Serve as a reference and propose innovative ideas to the Engineering Vision Team for any new challenges they may encounter.
Suggest novel vision solutions to address challenges presented by customers.
Responsibilities

Collaborate with the WW NVcore Vision Manager and Specialists to develop new inspection and vision capabilities.

Conceptualize and design cost-effective, innovative, and user-friendly vision solutions for most Cohu products.

Conduct technology scouting, forecasting, and identify emerging vision technologies.

Assess new vision technology components to determine the need for and strategy of know-how acquisition.

Conduct studies and trials within the vision science domain.

Work with the PMM group and Cohu vision teams to ascertain the best vision solutions for integration into all Cohu products in response to market requirements and trends.

Requirements & Qualifications

Proven experience in Vision Inspection and Metrology sciences.

Expertise in the conception of vision systems.

Extensive knowledge of vision elements, including cameras, lighting, lenses, optical systems, electronics, vision software, and calibration processes.

Management skills to coordinate various engineering department members around a specific topic or project.

Ability to present experimental trial results clearly and concisely.

Fluency in both French and English.

Position based in Switzerland with travel time up to 20%.
