Job Description

We are supporting a leading Swiss insurance company in the search for an experienced Senior Commercial P&C Insurance Expert to join a short-term strategic project within its SME insurance business. This assignment is ideal for a senior Underwriter, Technical Underwriter, or P&C Subject Matter Expert with strong knowledge of the Swiss commercial insurance market who can quickly assess existing structures and provide practical recommendations.

Your Responsibilities

• Review and further develop the Commercial P&C risk appetite framework.
• Assess and enhance the existing SME product offering.
• Review underwriting guidelines, principles, and steering mechanisms.
• Assess underwriting limits and deductibles across different coverages and industries.
• Review coverage concepts, product frameworks, and current market practices.
• Analyze and optimize facility agreements and framework contracts.
• Review underwriting processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop clear process documentation, recommendations, and work instructions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Underwriting, Sales, and Business Development.
• Present findings and recommendations to specialist and management stakeholders.

Your Profile

• Several years of experience within the Swiss Commercial P&C / SME insurance market.
• Strong hands-on background in Underwriting, Technical Underwriting, or a comparable P&C expert role.
• Deep technical knowledge of Property and/or Casualty insurance.
• Experience with risk appetite, underwriting guidelines, portfolio steering, product structures, and/or underwriting limits.
• Strong understanding of Swiss commercial insurance practices.
• Experience with facility/framework agreements, broker structures, or operational underwriting processes would be a strong advantage.
• Able to work independently and contribute with limited onboarding.
• Fluent in German and/or French; English is an advantage.
• Experience across Commercial Property, Liability, Engineering, or other SME P&C products would be particularly relevant.

This is a hands-on senior expert assignment for someone who can quickly understand the existing environment and translate complex insurance topics into practical, actionable recommendations.
