Position: Senior Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead two critical projects, each engaging at 40-50% level of commitment.

KTT Expert, ACHIEVE Consortium

Your primary responsibility will be to serve as the Knowledge and Technology Transfer (KTT) Expert within the ACHIEVE consortium, part of the SWEET funding program by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE). ACHIEVE plays a significant role in supporting Switzerland’s transition to net zero by collaborating with diverse stakeholders to co-create scientifically based roadmaps. You will ensure that research insights are effectively transformed into actionable knowledge, tools, and processes for decision-makers and practitioners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overall Project Management: Collaborate with the project management team, including the consortium lead and scientific integration expert, to ensure the strategic execution of the project, meeting objectives, and achieving milestones.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Co-creation: Plan and implement stakeholder engagement formats, mapping ongoing stakeholder needs and fostering collaboration between researchers and stakeholders.
• Communication & Dissemination: Coordinate the development and distribution of communication materials for stakeholders, including policy briefs and social media content.
• Monitoring & Impact Tracking: Track stakeholder uptake of project results, including technology adoption and relevant policy developments.

Additional sus.lab Projects

• Lead and manage innovative industry-related projects.
• Oversee the development and publication of project deliverables in collaboration with industry, policy, and society partners.
• Manage project budgets and teams effectively.
• Identify and secure new projects focusing on decarbonization and the circular economy.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree (or higher) in sustainability, environmental policy, engineering, environmental science, business, or a related field.
• 3-4 years of experience in sustainability consulting, policy analysis, transdisciplinary research, or a related domain.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage with leaders from research, industry, and policy.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Fluency in English and at least one Swiss national language (German, French, or Italian) at a C1 level.
• Reside in Switzerland, with the ability to work in Zurich (remote work is not an option).
• Availability to start by March 2026 at the latest.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in designing and facilitating participatory workshops and dialogues.
• A background in translating technical content into accessible formats.
• Familiarity with climate policy, decarbonization pathways, or carbon capture, utilization, storage, and removal technologies.
• A network within Swiss policy, industry, or civil society organizations.

The contract for this position is initially limited to one year per ETH guidelines, with the intention of establishing a multi-year employment relationship.
