Senior Project Lead Engineer Pipework Systems for Data Center (m/f/d)

In this newly created role of Senior Project Lead Engineer Pipework Systems for Data Center, you will serve as the project lead and subject matter expert, supporting our data center sales teams and customers by providing technical expertise in the design, specification, and analysis of pipework systems for data center projects. You will guide the Proposal and Specifications Engineering team, allocate projects, and ensure timely execution. Your responsibilities will include delivering proposals, quotations, and engineering designs while ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements. This will involve collaborating with the wider engineering group, including the stress analysis team and material specialists, to support your material selection and automation needs.
Your Tasks:
- Provide instruction and professional guidance to Proposal and Specification Engineers while acting as a Subject Matter Expert.
- Develop and review technical proposals, quotes, and engineering designs for mechanical pipework systems in data center projects.
- Perform calculations for pipework design, including hydraulic pressure losses, expansion and contraction, bracketing support, and valve sizing, as well as other engineering assessments to validate solutions.
- Support sales teams by translating customer requirements into efficient and cost-effective piping solutions.
- Collaborate with the global engineering team to optimize project delivery and provide necessary engineering support for project success.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., ASME, BSI, ISO) and project specifications.
- Assist with pre-sales and post-sales engineering activities as needed.
Your Profile:
- A master's or bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical or related field).
- At least 6 years of concrete experience as a Project Engineer or Project Leader in an industrial environment.
- Proven experience in data center design, pipework design, stress analysis, or related engineering disciplines.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools.
- Strong presentation skills to explain and defend GF recommendations and designs to various stakeholders.
