Manufacturing Process Expert: You will be Climeworks’ core expert in the operation of novel manufacturing lines for sorbent filter production, overseeing development, startup, and operation.
You will own all aspects of manufacturing process engineering to produce new sorbent filter material, collaborating with manufacturing engineers and product owners, including:
Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will work closely with internal experts in R&D, characterization/quality, product design, and sorbent/process development to guarantee that manufacturing process parameters yield high-quality sorbent module products, and support the development of new testing methods.
External Partnerships & Technical Leadership: You will serve as a key technical expert in collaborations with external partners, ensuring that DAC-specific requirements for sorbent filter manufacturing are met, including on-site monitoring of operations when necessary.
Team Player: You are willing to support lab-scale manufacturing in R&D and evaluate new concepts for future-oriented DAC solutions wherever needed.
Educational Background: You hold a degree in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, or a similar field.
Work Experience: You possess 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including significant experience during startup phases and the successful delivery of commercial products.
Field Expertise: You have experience with continuous manufacturing lines, including powder handling processes (HSE regulations and ATEX requirements).
Methods: You are logic-driven and experienced with process modeling approaches (heat and mass transfer, etc.) as well as structured risk-identification and problem-solving tools (e.g., process FMEA, 5 Whys, Fishbone).
Working Style & Ownership: You take initiative, are results-driven without overlooking important details, and are hands-on throughout the full development cycle—from lab to high-level evaluations.
Communication & Project Leadership: You collaborate easily across teams, communicate clearly, and enjoy leading both in-house and external projects.
Language Skills: You are fluent in English and have at least B1-level proficiency in German. Knowledge of French is an advantage.
Travel & Location Flexibility: During the first six months, regular on-site presence in Zurich will be required, and you are open to frequent travel (up to 60%, primarily between Zurich and Munich).
