How You Can Make an Impact
As a Data Architect in our AI & Data team, you will assist senior stakeholders in making informed architectural choices, leading the design and implementation of innovative enterprise-wide solutions.
Your significant contributions will include:
- Lead Enterprise Data Architecture Design: Collaborate with senior client stakeholders to modernize complex system landscapes that encompass multiple solutions (e.g., MDM, CRM, ERP, Cloud DWH). Design enterprise-level architecture, create pragmatic and enforceable architecture standards, and plan clients’ modernization journeys.
- Lead Cloud Data Platform Design & Implementation: Help clients establish scalable, high-performance Cloud data platforms tailored to their business needs. This involves data modeling, integration, transformation pipelines, and leveraging AI to optimize platform operations.
- Architect Integrated Solutions: Design and build integrations necessary for running business processes and delivering data products, including linking Cloud data platforms with AI/Gen AI platforms.
- Market Positioning: Enhance our architecture presence in the market through events, conferences, and engagements with key clients, internal teams, and alliance partners.
- Develop Internal Expertise: Mentor junior team members within AI & Data and set strategic focus for knowledge-building within Switzerland and collaboration with near- and offshore teams.
What We Are Looking For
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience as a Data Architect, with a proven track record of leading teams in the design and implementation of complex cloud-based ecosystems.
- Engineering background with at least one hands-on data platform end-to-end implementation experience as a data engineer (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Databricks, Snowflake).
- Experience in data architecture decision-making and influencing strategic directions, with the ability to convince business and IT stakeholders.
- Ability to guide data engineers in best practices regarding coding styles and quality, familiar with tools like SonarQube and AI coding assistants.
- Experience with various database types, including structured (relational), semi-structured (NoSQL), and graph-based (knowledge graph) models.
- Nice to have: Experience in packaging data platform solutions using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).

Leadership, Commercial Acumen, and Communication Skills
- Strong client-facing abilities and capacity to engage with diverse senior stakeholders, building relationships and identifying opportunities for project development.
- Exceptional abstract reasoning skills, understanding how enterprise-level, solution-level, and operational concepts interconnect to form cohesive solutions.
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), with the capacity to articulate perspectives that resonate with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Proven team leadership skills, able to collaborate with external partners, estimate and plan work efforts, and mentor team members to achieve optimal client outcomes.
Technical Expertise
- Strong modeling skills with relevant certifications from DAMA, TOGAF, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with designing and implementing solutions on major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Expertise in architecting modern data platforms (Lakehouse, Medallion, Lambda, event-driven) in Snowflake and/or Databricks.
- Experience in designing end-to-end architectures that balance performance, cost, and maintainability.
- Capability to create architecture blueprints and solution design documents.
- Experience with data Integration & ETL processes and designing integration architectures from various sources.
- Experience with metadata and event-driven architecture principles, optimizing delivery and operation through metadata utilization.
- Ability to review engineering work involving SQL, Python, and Spark.
- Familiarity with programming frameworks and data formats (NoSQL databases, knowledge graphs, big data formats such as Parquet and Iceberg).
Language Proficiency
Fluent in English; proficiency in German and/or French is highly preferred.
