How You Can Make an Impact

As a Data Architect in our AI & Data team, you will support senior leaders at our client organizations in making informed architectural choices and lead the design and implementation of innovative enterprise-wide solutions. You will have a significant impact in the following areas:

• Lead Enterprise Data Architecture Design: Help clients modernize complex system landscapes that require integration across multiple solutions (e.g., MDM, CRM, ERP, Cloud DWH). Collaborate with senior client stakeholders to design enterprise-level architecture, create pragmatic and enforceable standards, and plan the modernization journey.
• Lead Cloud Data Platform Design & Implementation: Assist clients in building scalable, high-performance cloud data platforms that fulfill business requirements. Your responsibilities will include data modeling, data integration, transformation pipelines, DevOps, and applying AI technologies to effectively build and operate these platforms.
• Architect Integrated Solutions: Guide clients in designing and constructing the necessary integrations to support their business processes and deliver data products. This may involve integrating cloud data platforms with AI solutions or between MDM/CRM systems and cloud data platforms.
• Strengthen Market Positioning: Lead our architectural presence in the market through events, conferences, and discussions with key clients, internal teams, and alliance partners.
• Develop Internal Expertise: Mentor junior team members within AI & Data and set strategic directions for expertise building in Switzerland and in relation to near- and offshore teams.

What We Are Looking For

Experience

• 4+ years of relevant professional experience as a Data Architect, with a proven track record in leading teams that design and implement complex cloud-based ecosystems.
• A robust engineering background with hands-on experience in data platform implementation (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Databricks, Snowflake).
• Demonstrated experience in evaluating and influencing data architecture decisions, guiding strategic direction, and persuading business and IT stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring data engineers on best coding practices and familiarity with industrial coding quality tools such as SonarQube and AI coding assistants integrated into IDEs.
• Familiarity with a range of database types, including structured, semi-structured, and graph-based models.
• Nice to have: Experience in packaging data platform solutions into Infrastructure as Code using solutions such as Terraform.

• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to articulate perspectives persuasively to technical and business stakeholders.
• Proven leadership skills to manage partnerships, estimate and plan work, and mentor team members to deliver optimal client outcomes.

Technical Expertise

• Strong skills in modeling methods with experience or certifications from DAMA, TOGAF, or equivalent standards, such as:
• Conceptual, logical, and physical data models
• Dimensional modeling
• Data Vault
• Designs for normalized and denormalized schemas for analytical and operational workloads with an understanding of the modeling toolkit.
• Hands-on experience in designing and implementing solutions on major cloud platforms:
• Amazone Web Services (AWS)
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Azure
• Expertise in architecting modern data platforms (Lakehouse, Medallion, Lambda, event-driven) using Snowflake, Databricks, or equivalent technologies.
• Experience in designing end-to-end architectures that balance performance, cost, and maintainability.
• Ability to estimate implementation efforts and lead delivery teams, create architecture blueprints and solution design documents, and utilize GenAI capabilities for optimization.
• Data Integration & ETL skills, including designing integration layer architecture from multiple sources such as ERP, CRM, operational databases, APIs, and files.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica or DBT.
• Expertise in metadata and event-driven architecture, with proficiency in best practices for capturing metadata within data pipelines and developing event-driven logic.
• Experience in enterprise architectures, focusing on integrating MDM solutions with data platforms and extending platforms with AI components.
• Programming frameworks and data formats, with the ability to review engineering work in SQL, Python, and Spark.
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases, knowledge graphs, and big data file formats like Parquet and Iceberg.

Language Proficiency

• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German and/or French is highly preferred.
