Summary

The position is within the Global Technical R&D department of Global Drug Development. Within this organization, Chemical & Analytical Development (CHAD) plays an essential role in the development of processes for manufacturing and analysis of Antibody-Oligonucleotide Conjugates (AOCs).

About the Role

Your Responsibilities:

  • Leverage your strong expertise and creativity in synthesis and process development to lead the establishment of future chemistry and manufacturing pathways for Antibody-Oligonucleotide Conjugates (AOCs).
  • Engage with Novartis Business Development & Licensing (BD&L) activities focusing on chemistry and manufacturing processes to ensure adequate support and knowledge transfer.
  • Design and execute experiments in our labs, interpreting and reporting data and results.
  • Coordinate and ensure timely availability and transfer of manufacturing instructions to the pilot plant within Chemical & Analytical Development or Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs).
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external partners as a core member of a cross-functional team to ensure the timely and quality delivery of new nucleotide drugs to our patients.
  • Provide relevant process documentation in support of filing of dossiers.
  • Participate actively in scientific exchange groups within Novartis and academia, maintaining excellent collaborations with our customers.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Expert knowledge in the field of bioconjugation, preferably conjugation of oligonucleotides to antibodies; additional bioconjugation expertise is a benefit.
  • Dedicated, thoughtful, and flexible team collaboration skills.
  • Proficient in English (oral and written); good command of German (spoken/written) is desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge of laboratory and/or technical tools.
  • Good proficiency in software and computer tools, such as the Office package.

Desirable Requirements:

  • PhD and PostDoc in organic chemistry, biochemistry, or biological chemistry with a specialization in bioconjugation preferred.
  • Proven track record and at least 2-3 years of professional experience in the field of bioconjugation are required.
