About the Position

We are in search of a qualified, professional educator with a proven track record in teaching Secondary Social Studies, specifically for grades 9 and 10. The ideal candidate will be flexible and enthusiastic about collaborating with a dynamic team of Social Studies teachers to plan, deliver, and assess a student-centered curriculum in a diverse international school setting. We seek individuals who maintain high expectations for their students and are adept at differentiating content and instruction across all courses. Preference will be given to applicants with experience working with EAL (English as an Additional Language) populations and those willing to contribute to the co-curricular programs at ZIS.

Qualifications

Teacher applicants should meet the following qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of previous teaching experience, preferably at an international school.
  • Valid teaching license, including specialism.
  • Experience in integrated Social Studies, weaving together History, Economics, Geography, and Civics.
  • Documented record of excellence in teaching.
  • BA/BSc or equivalent university degree.
  • Proficiency in integrating technology into the curriculum.
  • Effective concept-driven, student-centered curriculum design.
  • Commitment to an inquiry-based approach that fosters curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Dedication to ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Team-oriented mindset, valuing collaboration and active participation in school life.
