Are you passionate about technology that serves as the backbone of the rail sector? Do you thrive on resolving malfunctions in machinery and installations, ensuring seamless operations in the workshop? If you are seeking a position in a small, highly skilled team where you can exert significant responsibility and influence, this opportunity could be for you.

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Technician in Electrical Engineering to join an international leader in rail infrastructure. This organization provides essential support for large rail projects through materials, logistics, and technical services. Based in Hilversum, they ensure optimal functioning of machinery and installations, and your role will be crucial: without well-functioning machines, everything halts.

This position is less focused on outdoor and malfunction-driven tasks compared to field service roles but offers equally challenging technical responsibilities. You will be concentrating on maintaining and enhancing a diverse fleet of machines, where electrical engineering, control, and mechanics intersect. Collaborating closely with a small team will allow you considerable autonomy in addressing technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on machines, installations, and tools
  • Analyzing and resolving electrical malfunctions, including PLC controls and drives
  • Assessing malfunctions and determining when external assistance is necessary
  • Implementing temporary solutions to ensure safe production continuity
  • Guiding and supporting operators in technical maintenance
  • Supervising external technicians and maintenance teams
  • Offering suggestions for improvements and optimization of machinery

Candidate Profile

  • MBO degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Knowledge of PLCs, control technology, and regulated drives
  • Affinity for machines such as milling, turning, and sawing machines, conveyor belts, and cranes
  • Basic understanding of mechanics (or willingness to learn)
  • Ability to work independently and make technically sound decisions
  • Commitment to safety and quality
  • Enjoys being part of a small, close-knit team

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary ranging from €3,100 to €4,175 gross per month
  • 25 vacation days and 10 ADV days
  • Prospects for a permanent contract
  • Collaboration within a small technical team with direct communication (2 colleagues)
  • Ample opportunity to take initiative and implement improvements
  • Career development opportunities in electrical engineering and control technology
  • A stable international organization with a practical and down-to-earth work environment

This role stands out due to the integration of electrical engineering, control, and mechanics. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of machines where no two days are alike. You can influence how malfunctions are resolved and how processes are enhanced.

We understand that this is not a conventional position, and we encourage you to apply even if you do not meet all qualifications but possess a solid technical foundation and are motivated to grow. Interested?
