Job Opportunity: All-round Service Technician Railway Infrastructure

**Note:** For this role, proficiency in Dutch and residency in the Netherlands is essential.

Are you searching for a dynamic technical field service role where you play a vital part in keeping the Dutch railway system operational, from switches to signal installations? If resolving malfunctions under pressure excites you, especially when the rest of the country is asleep, we have the perfect opportunity for you. Join an organization that prioritizes your development, enhances your specialist knowledge, and provides you with top-notch equipment.

We are seeking an All-round Service Technician Railway Infrastructure for an esteemed international leader in railway infrastructure. This company, renowned as both a manufacturer and specialist, offers a wide array of systems and components for the railway, including switch systems, signaling installations, and track heating. When a malfunction occurs, the service team springs into action, and you play a crucial role in ensuring that train operations can resume safely and swiftly.

Main Responsibilities

  • Repairing, adjusting, replacing, and maintaining switch systems, compensation joints, and crossings.
  • Revising and restoring switch control systems.
  • Installing and testing electric and fluid-controlled switch heating systems.
  • Quickly analyzing and resolving malfunctions in signaling installations.
  • Participating in a 24/7 fault service on a rotational basis (approximately once every four weeks).
  • Communicating on-site with contractors and providing direct technical advice.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who:

  • Possesses at least an MBO-2 work and thinking level.
  • Has a background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechanics, or civil engineering.
  • Is comfortable with regular night and weekend work.
  • Is flexible and willing to travel across the Netherlands for malfunctions.
  • Is a quick learner, practically oriented, and eager to develop within a specialist field.
  • Can maintain composure under pressure and efficiently resolve malfunctions.

What We Offer

In return, you can expect:

  • A competitive salary ranging from €3,500 to €4,800 gross per month, excluding irregularity allowances, along with a fixed year-end bonus.
  • Excellent benefits, including 27 vacation days, 13 ADV days, a personal service vehicle, professional tools, and extensive specialist training opportunities.
  • The chance to work within a stable international organization that fosters an informal culture, along with perks such as a bike/sports plan and study allowances for children through the company fund.

This position stands out due to its unique blend of technology, autonomy, and social impact. You won't be confined to a single location or standard installations; one night you might tackle an urgent malfunction at a switch, while another day is dedicated to preventive maintenance of critical railway infrastructure.

We recognize that this is a specialized role, and we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every criterion but possess the motivation and technical foundation to further your expertise.
