Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and hands-on Product Director to lead the product vision and strategy for our real estate classifieds marketplace in Switzerland. In this role, you will drive user engagement, monetization, and long-term value creation by aligning our product strategy with customer needs and business goals.

Main Tasks

  • Product Leadership & Organizational Design:
    • Lead and develop the Product Leadership team (Heads of Product) while ensuring optimal team structure to promote focus, autonomy, and collaboration across Product and Design. Manage the Product Budget for effective resource allocation in line with strategic priorities.
    • Inspire and align the entire product organization around a shared vision, motivating teams to achieve measurable outcomes.
    • Build and nurture high-performing, empowered, and customer-focused teams that can independently address meaningful challenges.
  • Product Strategy & Execution:
    • Own and direct the overall Real Estate product strategy, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business objectives amidst market dynamics and technology trends.
    • Collaborate closely with peers in engineering, sales, marketing, and customer support to ensure seamless product delivery and foster cross-functional alignment.
    • Ensure that teams operate in an outcome-driven manner, adhering to clear strategic guidelines, and delivering measurable impact.
    • Promote a robust product operating model focused on iterative, evidence-based delivery and continuous enhancement.
    • Oversee KPIs and performance metrics to monitor product success, enabling incremental deliveries based on data-driven decisions.
  • Culture & Continuous Improvement:
    • Establish and embed a strong product culture centered on discovery, experimentation, and rapid learning cycles.
    • Encourage continuous learning and improvement across teams through retrospectives, shared experiences, and measurable feedback loops.
    • Create an environment where evidence guides decisions and teams feel empowered to take calculated risks.
  • Cross-Company Collaboration:
    • Identify and cultivate strategic synergies with other business units and marketplaces within SMG, sharing insights and leveraging capabilities to accelerate innovation and efficiency.
    • Act as a connector and ambassador for product excellence across the broader SMG organization.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in a senior strategic Product leadership role.
  • A proven track record in product planning, successfully defining and launching products.
  • Experience in Marketplace, eCommerce, or the Classified Business with a focus on commercially-minded products for both professional customers and consumers.
  • Demonstrated ability in cross-functional collaboration and guiding teams through transformations in product-led organizations.
  • Experience in representing the product function at executive leadership board meetings, contributing to company-wide strategic initiatives.
  • Fluent Business English and strong experience in working within and contributing to multi-cultural environments are essential.
  • A higher degree in Product Leadership, Business Administration, IT, Finance, Economics, or a comparable level of work experience.
