Procurement Project Manager (m/f/d)

Location: Rotkreuz | Employment: 100%

Background:

The Procurement Project Manager will lead a diverse array of projects within the realm of Diagnostics Direct Procurement, working closely with stakeholders and associated functions. These projects encompass the development, deployment, and continual enhancement of cutting-edge procurement processes and digital procurement solutions, utilizing both traditional and agile methodologies. Additionally, the Procurement Project Manager will spearhead benchmarking and sourcing initiatives, employing modern digital technologies and procurement tools such as eAuctions. The ideal candidate will also conduct data analytics and data intelligence to produce weekly and monthly reports for the Procurement organization, equipping stakeholders with data-driven insights for comprehensive governance and pipeline health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive procurement project plans, considering timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Monitor and control project execution to ensure alignment with goals.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, proactively reporting on project progress and potential issues.
  • Plan, design, and lead global sourcing and benchmarking initiatives.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Drive alignment with key stakeholders within Roche Diagnostics and across the Roche Group.
  • Lead global projects to enhance and continuously improve modern procurement processes.
  • Gather requirements and identify improvement opportunities from stakeholders.
  • Manage the project backlog efficiently.
  • Leverage modern digital procurement technology to optimize sourcing and benchmarking processes.
  • Assess and enhance procurement processes for automation, streamlining, and cost savings.
  • Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to boost procurement efficiency.
  • Conduct data analytics and intelligence to deliver insightful reports supporting governance and pipeline health.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or Life Sciences is preferred.
  • 5+ years of procurement or supply chain experience with a solid record of delivering value in strategic sourcing, enterprise cost reduction, and/or operational efficiency projects, particularly within the global Pharmaceutical or Medical Device sector.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
  • Strong background in strategic sourcing and supplier management in highly regulated industries such as medical devices or pharmaceuticals.
  • At least 3 years of project management experience, including risk management and project reporting.
  • Proficient in negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Extensive experience in cross-functional, international projects in Procurement.
  • Strong analytical skills, capable of deriving insights from large datasets and skilled in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlikview).
  • Experience with enterprise systems (SAP, Oracle) and procurement tools (e.g., GEP, Ariba, Emptoris).
  • High proficiency in English.

Nice to Have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications related to Business, Procurement, or Project Management.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python.
  • Experience in Life Sciences or Management Consulting.
  • Professional certifications in purchasing (e.g., CIPS) or project management (e.g., PMP, Prince 2).
  • Proficiency in German.
