Job opportunity
100%, Basel, fixed-term
We are developing innovative lab-on-chip technology, also known as microfluidic technology, for various applications in the life sciences and biomedicine. Our interdisciplinary approach encompasses the design and manufacturing of miniaturized platforms, as well as their optimization for biochemical assays and analytical procedures.
For a third-party funded project running for four years, we are offering a postdoctoral fellow position.
The RadiantDx project is a multidisciplinary collaboration focused on the diagnosis of sepsis, a critical health condition marked by non-specific symptoms such as high fever. To assist healthcare providers in making informed treatment decisions, we aim to develop a miniaturized system for rapid sepsis diagnosis. This will help reduce unnecessary antibiotic use and enhance patient survival and recovery rates. In collaboration with researchers from the Institute of Medical Microbiology at the University of Zurich, the Department of Informatics at ETH Zurich, and several other partners, we are tackling this challenge by integrating microfluidic technology, sequencing, and rapid data analysis.
In the Bioanalytics Group, the postdoctoral fellow will collaborate with a PhD student on various aspects of the microfluidic platform and sample preparation.
The postdoctoral fellow will work alongside a PhD student to:
The position will be located within an inspiring and collaborative environment at ETH Zurich.
