About the Role
The Medical Communications Manager serves as Takeda’s external-facing scientific communications lead for GI2 (Gastroenterology and Inflammation). This role is responsible for planning and executing medical education and omni-channel scientific communications—encompassing traditional, innovative, and digital formats. Collaborating closely with DD&T (Digital, Data & Technology), Field Medical, and Medical Advisors, this position translates evidence into clear, compliant, and impactful narratives. You will orchestrate customer journeys and leverage AI-driven analytics and advanced CRM to continuously improve reach, engagement, and educational outcomes.
How You Will Contribute
- Scientific Communications Strategy: Own the GI2 medical communications plan aligned with the medical plan; define audiences, messages, channels, and success metrics while ensuring scientific accuracy and consistency across assets.
- Medical Education (MedEd): Design and deliver accredited and non-accredited MedEd initiatives (e.g., symposia, webinars, masterclasses) in partnership with external experts and internal stakeholders while evaluating learning outcomes.
- Omni-Channel Orchestration: Map out scientific customer journeys and execute omni-channel campaigns (email, web, social, virtual events), customizing content based on insights and KOL profiling.
- Content Operations & Review: Create and adapt scientific content, managing references and ensuring comprehensive MLR review.
- Insights & Analytics: Utilize data analytics and dashboards to measure reach, engagement, and impact; employ A/B testing and pursue continuous optimization.
- Publications Support (Local): Coordinate with Medical Advisors and Global Publications on local needs aligned with global policies.
- Collaboration & Governance: Engage cross-functionally to ensure compliance and aligned execution across departments.
- Vendor & Budget Management: Select and oversee agencies and vendors, tracking budgets and quality for successful project execution.
- Compliance & Ethics: Ensure all activities adhere to Takeda-ism and relevant regulatory standards, promoting fair-balanced scientific communication.
Skills and Capabilities You Bring to the Role
- Advanced degree in Life Sciences (PharmD/PhD/MD or MSc with equivalent experience).
- Native-level proficiency in German or French and excellent English; ability to craft and evaluate scientific content meticulously.
- 2–4 years’ experience in Medical Affairs/Medical Communications, with Immunology experience being a distinct advantage.
- Strong scientific writing, storytelling, and health literacy capabilities.
- High agility and collaboration skills; enjoyment of interdisciplinary teamwork.
- Proficient in digital tools and technologies, including OCE/campaign automation and Microsoft 365.
- Data literate with experience in AI-driven analytics and KPI tracking.
- Strong project and vendor management skills, capable of delivering on multiple initiatives concurrently.
- Solid understanding of compliance frameworks related to scientific and educational activities.
