Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated professional to support our desk in building supply and demand models across various agricultural commodities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development of new analytical models and processes aimed at enhancing efficiency based on fundamental best practices in commodities.

Your responsibilities will include producing ad hoc analysis based on short-term market developments as requested by the desk, taking ownership of data flows, and onboarding new datasets. You will be tasked with running and maintaining processes related to fundamental data operations.

Collaboration is key; you will work closely with different teams to capture cross-desk synergies and improve systematic reporting of information flow. Moreover, you will provide ad-hoc desk support regarding organization or technical assistance as needed.

Typical Day

  • Ensure all models and visualizations are functioning correctly and monitor any data issues.
  • Organize team Confluence pages to keep all information up to date.
  • Produce any ad-hoc analysis that traders or analysts may require.
  • Contribute to various long-term projects aimed at building market-leading analytical models.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degrees (MSc preferred) in Mathematics, Statistics, or Quantitative Finance.
  • Experience in quantitative research, ideally through prior internship experience or a related position, particularly in commodities trading.
  • Experience in highly quantitative trading asset classes, especially power, alongside systematic trading is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with Excel/VBA is advantageous.
  • A demonstrated passion for investing and an understanding of trends in commodities markets.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to quickly synthesize thoughts and organize information effectively.
  • A willingness to tackle any project or task that arises.
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across multiple teams and regions.
