International Indirect Tax Manager
Location: Central London
Salary: £90,000–£120,000 DOE + Annual Bonus
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced International Indirect Tax Manager to join a dynamic international business based in Central London. This hands-on position focuses significantly on international VAT and indirect tax, particularly in relation to e-commerce and the cross-border movement of physical goods. We are especially interested in candidates with experience in the consumer goods, retail, or e-commerce sectors who understand the practical tax implications of selling products globally.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage UK, EU, and international VAT compliance
- Oversee multi-country EU VAT registrations and reporting requirements
- Work with OSS and IOSS regimes
- Manage VAT implications of cross-border e-commerce transactions
- Understand and apply marketplace facilitator rules
- Support the movement of physical goods across international borders
- Manage indirect tax considerations around imports, customs classifications, and duties
- Collaborate with external compliance partners across multiple jurisdictions
- Prepare and submit UK VAT returns
- Work closely with international Tax and Finance teams
- Identify tax risks and opportunities associated with international commercial activities
- Support wider corporation tax, tax accounting, and compliance requirements
- Collaborate with external auditors and advisors
- Improve tax controls, processes, and procedures
The role also encompasses UK tax compliance, tax accounting, overseas tax risk management, and supporting the business on commercial decisions.
About You
- Significant indirect tax/VAT experience within an international environment
- Hands-on consumer goods, retail, or e-commerce VAT experience is highly important
- Strong practical understanding of the cross-border movement of physical products
- Experience with OSS/IOSS
- Experience managing VAT registrations across multiple EU jurisdictions
- Background in top 4 consultancy (PwC, Deloitte, KPMG, EY) is highly advantageous
- Knowledge of marketplace facilitator rules
- Experience with import duties and customs classification
- Strong understanding of UK and EU VAT
- Ideally currently working in-house, or with substantial hands-on in-house experience
- ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent qualification/experience
- Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills
- Comfortable working with international colleagues and external advisors
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- Commercial, pragmatic, and able to operate in a fast-moving environment
