Infrastructure Manager / Infrastructure Manageress

Experimental Animal Center

We are seeking a qualified candidate to join our team starting April 1st, 2026, or by appointment for a 1-year position, with the possibility of extension.

Areas of Responsibility

• Manage the infrastructure and equipment of the animal facilities to comply with internal, national, and international guidelines.
• Maintain inventory, equipment, facility setup, and records relating to operations, ensuring the proper functioning of facility equipment and coordinating repair and maintenance with key providers.
• Ensure appropriate staff technical training, supervision, and evaluation while leading a team of 10 individuals.
• Verify that adequate supplies of expendables are available at all times to support barrier husbandry operations and maintain facilities.
• Assist with quality assurance methods to check the hygiene of the animal facilities, water quality, and sterilization chambers.
• Develop and revise standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the animal facility in conjunction with facility managers, ensuring adherence to SOPs, quality assurance guidelines, and protocols.
• Provide centralized support and involvement in the ongoing development of the procurement system.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in biology, a related field, or a technical profession related to the healthcare industry.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in animal husbandry facilities, veterinary medicine, or human medicine.
• Experience with procurement is advantageous.
• Demonstrated initiative, strong communication skills, resilience, and a service-oriented leadership style.
• Willingness to collaborate with various stakeholders and develop innovative solutions.
• Proficiency in English and/or German; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
