Role Description
Reporting to the Executive Director of Organization Effectiveness and with a dotted line to the Director of Payroll, the Functional HRIS Payroll Analyst serves as the crucial link between Payroll Operations and HR systems. The primary focus is on SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP), Vendor Payroll Processing, and related payroll processes. This role supports payroll operations through functional analysis, testing, data validation, reporting, process improvement, and issue resolution. As a Payroll Subject Matter Expert (SME) for system-related topics, this position presents an excellent opportunity for experienced payroll professionals or consultants seeking to transition into a dynamic, internationally-focused in-house environment with a direct business impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll Systems Support: Act as the go-to payroll systems expert for SAP ECP, Employee Central, and payroll operations, ensuring accurate, efficient, and reliable payroll delivery.
- Requirements & Process Improvement: Shape smarter payroll processes by translating business needs into practical solutions, automation opportunities, and clear documentation.
- Testing & Change Management: Lead payroll testing and release readiness, ensuring that system changes meet business expectations and are smoothly adopted by users.
- Data Quality & Governance: Strengthen payroll data integrity through validation, reconciliation, audit support, and business-led correction activities.
- Reporting & Analytics: Convert payroll data into meaningful insights by developing reports, dashboards, and KPI monitoring for payroll management.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with Payroll, HR, IT, and external partners to drive system enhancements, support key projects, and resolve integration challenges.
Key Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Payroll, HRIS, SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP), SAP HCM Payroll, or related payroll systems, with a solid understanding of end-to-end payroll operations.
- Good functional knowledge of SAP ECP, Employee Central, payroll replication processes, payroll-relevant master data, controls, reconciliation, reporting, and analytics.
- Experience supporting payroll testing, audits, reconciliations, data validation, and business process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to gather payroll business requirements and collaborate with IT delivery teams and external providers on system enhancements and solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate payroll issues, assess business impacts, and ensure high data accuracy.
- Excellent project coordination, documentation, and process mapping skills to support payroll implementations, enhancements, testing, and change activities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across Payroll, HR, IT, and external partners.
- Experience in multinational payroll environments is preferred; knowledge of payroll processes in Switzerland, Germany, and France is highly desirable.
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and/or Employee Central Payroll certifications.
